Ensign Bickford Aerospace & Defense is Hiring an Assembler Near Simsbury, CT

Description

The Assembler is an important member of the team that builds our products. This position produces high quality assemblies in accordance with specific engineering drawings and manufacturing instructions.

Responsible for safety, quality and delivery of products for our Aerospace and Defense markets. This role will report to the Production Supervisor of Linear & Transfer Systems in our Simsbury, CT location.

Responsibilities :

  • Perform manual assembly as defined in Manufacturing Instructions using hand tools, simple machinery, etc.
  • Loading and unloading components into automatic machines and powders into cups to press
  • Follow all written instructions, work instructions, travelers and procedures when producing hardware
  • Clean, measure, cut, sample, spool, coil and pack product
  • Maintain quality and accuracy requirements

Requirements :

  • Excels in a dynamic, changeable work environment; Energetic and positive; Ability to work independently and as a member of the team
  • High School diploma
  • Ability to read and understand written instructions in English
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement initiatives
  • Able to work with energetic material, such as powder weighing and powder loading

Physical Demands and Work Environment :

Appropriate safety equipment as required by area. Some of the test and manufacturing areas include exposure to noise and may require hearing protection.

The physical activities of this position include work lifting up to 25 pounds, walking, standing, sitting, reaching, kneeling, repetitive motions, stooping, balancing, pushing, pulling, coordinating, talking and hearing.
