EnSafe is searching for an Environmental Health, and Safety (EHS) Manager to work as a contract consultant at one of our client’s sites in Portland, Oregon.

This is a contract position, 6-month contract basis with the potential for the client to hire directly moving forward as a long-term employee.

What we are looking for

As an Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager, your primary role will be to lead, support, and implement our client’s environmental and safety programs, policies, and procedures to foster a safe, healthy, and accident-free environment. The EH&S Manager will be knowledgeable of applicable federal, state, and local safety and environmental laws to support compliance. Additionally, this role will lead and support EH&S projects as well as provide technical and training support to facility employees.

What you will be doing:

• General safety oversight of contractors, transfer operations of manufacturing lines, assistance with documentation, and providing H&S technical expertise as needed.
• Develop/Create/Instruct health and safety training on various OSHA topics; LOTO, Hot work, confined spaces, PPE, machine guarding, etc. 
• Develop Job Hazard Analysis.
• Risk assessments, injury investigations, data analysis, reports, and recommendations.
• Create and review permits, including stormwater, air emissions, hazardous waste, NPDES permitting, and other sampling auditing compliance to EPA and OSHA standards.
• Support client’s safety programs, policies, and procedures to foster a safe, healthy, and accident-free environment.

What you will need:

• A BS degree in EHS Studies or equivalent relative work experience.
• 15 years of work experience in manufacturing EH&S,
• Working knowledge of U.S. EPA and OSHA regulations.
• Working knowledge of health and safety hazards associated with LOTO, machine guarding, confined space assessments, and job hazard analysis.
• Working knowledge of air emission source permitting, EPCRA §312 and 313 reporting, NPDES permitting, SPCC, and RCRA/hazardous waste
• Must be local to the Portland, OR area.
