Position Description:

Position: Juvenile Justice Probation Case Manager/ TETHER COORDINATOR

Status: Salaried/Exempt

General Description:

Under general supervision of the Program Supervisor, provides services to assigned Agency consumers and their families in the home and community, providing instructive counseling activities, assisting with treatment goals, and working to develop positive relationships while serving as a constructive role model and mentor. To prepare and monitor all youth on tether in the program.

Reporting Relationships:

This position reports directly to the Program Supervisor.

Qualifications (required at time of offer):

• Bachelor?s degree in Human Services field.
• Prior experience working with delinquent youth, at risk youth or families with multiple problems in the delinquency or child welfare systems.
• Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills.
• Excellent organizational, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent computer and technology skills to monitor the tethers.
• Reliable transportation.
• Able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays, with ?regular? business hours set by the Agency.
• Prior experience with Microsoft Office and related applications
• Satisfaction of all employment eligibility and Agency hiring requirements.

Responsibilities (illustrative and not intended as inclusive; specific responsibilities may vary):

• Provides timely services to all assigned Agency consumers and their families as outlined in program specific contract. Such services may include face-to-face contacts with Agency consumers and/or their family members, providing timely responses to calls and other inquiries from the same, or other services, as required by Program-specific procedures and/or the applicable contract terms, including the Wayne County policy on Standards of Promptness

• Ensures accurate, professional, and timely entry in JAIS of all required reports, logs, case notes, filings and other paperwork as required by Agency program-specific procedures, the applicable program contract terms, and the Wayne County policy on Standards of Promptness. This includes VOP petitions, preliminary reports, incident reports, initial treatment plans, and updated treatment plans.

• Attends all court hearings for youth on caseload which will include all youth in JDF. Will make weekly visits to youth in JDF and ensure timely compliance with tether placement on youth. Ensures communication and positive working relationship with Tether Coordinator at CCMO.

• Provides ongoing services to assigned Agency consumers and families, in coordination with the applicable organization (including school contacts) at a frequency determined by the treatment plan, program-specific procedures and/or the applicable contract terms.

• Ensures accurate, professional, and timely attendance at all meetings, trainings, groups, case conferences, client sessions and general supervision.

• Completes and tracks all tether packets and coordinates with the WEB for placement of tether. Tracks all youth on tether and responds to all variances of the tether. Completes case notes on all tether non-compliance in accordance with the tether policy. Schedules with the WEB in conjunction with AFS DAU all tether removals.
