Description

Enlace Chicago convenes, organizes and builds the capacity of Little Village stakeholders to confront systemic inequities and barriers to economic and social access. It is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of Little Village residents by fostering a safe and healthy environment and by championing opportunities for educational advancement and economic development. 

Position Summary: The Fundraising Coordinator collaborates closely with the Development, Finance and Evaluation Teams, as well as program staff generally, to manage Enlace’s grants portfolio. This position communicates with current and prospective funders and is responsible for the submission of grant proposals and reports. The Fundraising Coordinator works particularly closely with the Fundraising Managers and Enlace program staff whose role is to write narrative sections of proposals and reports. 

Reports to: Development Director 

Accountable to: Development Team, Finance Team, Co-Executive Directors, Program Directors 

Communicates with: Evaluation Team, department directors and managers 

Informs: Enlace staff and partners 

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Become very familiar with Enlace’s diverse grants portfolio. 
  • Uphold – and support in adapting as necessary – Enlace’s values, goals and processes related to development efforts, and support in determining whether funding opportunities are a good fit. · Take steps to ensure that proposals and reports reflect and reinforce organizational strategic plans; this includes facilitating proposal strategy meetings with relevant staff and stakeholders when appropriate and reviewing proposals and reports prior to submission. 
  • Communicate with current and potential funders, including making initial contact, arranging meetings with appropriate staff, organizing site visits, coordinating follow up, and/or providing updates about organizational successes and changes. 
  • Participate in information sessions, webinars and other informational meetings organized by current and potential funders, and share information with relevant staff and stakeholders. 
  • Prepare the administrative sections (those that do not include narrative or budgets) of grant proposals and reports.
  • Support the development and management of Enlace’s grants database. 
  • Responsible for individual donor acknowledgements.
  • Support communication and collaboration with the Development, Finance and Evaluation Teams, as well as program staff who support with grant proposals and reports. 
  • Attend relevant team and organizational meetings including, when necessary, those related to grant implementation.
  • Support with all aspects of development department special events. 

Requirements/Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience (one to three years) in development, finance or non-profit management or related fields is required. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience with government/foundation/corporate solicitations, grants management and/or database management is required. 
  • Connection to the Little Village community is preferred.
  • Ability to speak/write/read in English/Spanish is preferred. 
  • Strong writing and editing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work quickly and independently with minimal guidance or oversight is necessary. (self motivated/self starter)
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail is needed. 

Status: Full-time with benefits 

Supervisory Responsibilities: None 

Working Conditions and Demands: No unusual demands 

Salary Range: Annual salary range is $45,000 - $50,000, commensurate with education and experience.
