Position Description: 

Skilled layout inspector.

The primary responsibility of this Inspector position is to inspect product to customer drawings and prepare first article packages for customer submittal. The inspector must have hands on experience using surface plate measuring equipment and gages to verify product conformance to aerospace drawings with geometric dimensions and tolerances.

This position requires qualification as a customer approved delegated product release representative per AS13001 and customer requirements. 

Essential Responsibilities:

• Inspection of complex configurations using surface plate equipment
• All phases of inspection including: receiving, first piece, in process, final and first article inspection.
• Experience with AS9102 requirements: initiating, completing and submitting first article inspection reports. 
• Experience with aerospace OEM drawings and specifications.
• Well versed in geometric dimensioning and tolerancing.
• Determine acceptance of product based upon inspection results.
• Generated inspection data/reports including nonconforming material reports.
• Achieve AS13001 certification and customer DQR/ASRA approval.
• Efficiently navigate through customers’ portals for FAIR submittals and product release activity.
• Interface with customers quality representatives.
• Interface with suppliers regarding quality issues.
• Serve as a resource to department supervisors for problem identification, resolution, trends, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

• Experienced layout inspector.
• Well versed in FAI per AS9102.
• Well versed with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing. 
• Experienced with generating, compiling, reviewing and submittal first article inspection reports.
• Qualify as a customer approved self-release agent (a.k.a. DQR/ASRA).
• Proficient with online portals, electronic files and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent interpersonal and communications skills, both written and oral. Easily interact with engineering and production personnel.
• Ability to work efficiently unsupervised.

• Pluses:
  • CMM activity.
  • Calibration and measurement system analysis experience.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 requirements.
  • Internal audit experience.
