If you have experience and your license has expired, GREAT PAY is still available (as long as you can still pass the Emission Testing standards to obtain a current license.)
*Are you are interested in a beginning position in the Automotive Repair industry and willing to learn the emission testing basics? If your are, we will teach you everything you need to know about Diesel Emission Testing.
~So, what does a Diesel Emission Testing Technician (DETT) do?
JOB DESCRIPTION; (Here is a list of containing most of what the job details are.)
1. Pass a written and hands on test; the state of Colorado requires that all DETT's pass an annual written test at their testing facility and a "hands on" test of the entire scope of physically testing a vehicle. As an Engle Automotive employee, you are NEVER left "on your own, out in the dark" to figure the whole process out. But rather as a DETT you will be coached and trained by your work peers. You will also be given full access to study materials and all necessary written guides required to gain a FULL understanding of the emission testing requirements. Yep, there is a lot to memorize, retain and perform, but that is also what helps to keep the job interesting.
2. Physically demanding; A DETT does a lot of walking. The building is large and requires that every employee walk throughout the 12,000 square foot building. As a DETT you will be beneath the vehicle (using a "creeper") inspecting the chassis emission equipment. You will also be lifting the vehicle hood and inspecting for "physical presence and appearance of function" for the various emission components as listed on the Federal/State emission label in each engine bay of every vehicle (or as found within a guide book).
3. Keep Clean; DETT's must maintain a clean personal appearance, keep the diesel emission testing bay clean & orderly while simultaneously working under the hood, under the chassis vehicle and using chains/ratchet straps to secure the vehicle on the Dynamometer within the testing bay area. The "clean personal appearance" means keeping everything from your work uniform clean to NEVER leaving greasy hand and/or foot prints in a customers vehicle. Can you imagine owning a clean (and often very expensive) vehicle that needs an emission test, being required by the state of Colorado to have the test done, scheduling the procedure, taking time out of your day to get it done, paying a hefty price to have your vehicle tested and then... getting it back with stains on the seat, grease/dirt on the steering wheel and floormats! Well, we hope you would not want that on your personal vehicle and we believe that our customer do not want their vehicle returned to them in worse condition than it was before it was tested.
4. Supporting the team; depending on the daily schedule of diesel emission tests, there will be days that have testing procedures "back to back" and other days where a DETT finds himself/herself without many emission tests to perform. On those "slower days" you will be expected to help keep the facility clean and presentable. That could mean anything from raking leaves, to emptying trash cans, to sweeping the floors or whatever else may be needed. Having a wiliness and positive attitude toward the entire job is an absolute necessity. At Engle Automotive, no individual (not even the owner) are "above" cleaning or performing any task that makes things better for the entirety of the team.
EMPLOYEMENT DETAILS;
*The position has some great pay bonuses available and support from the entire "Engle Team".
*Our diesel emission testing is greatly valued by the entire team and held to exceptionally high standards.
*Monday through Friday work schedule (never work weekends)!
*Paid Holidays, Paid Time off (including Sick Pay), Paid training & Paid Benefits!

Every persons ideas are valued and considered. (Some of the best business benefits that have been "adopted" by Engle Automotive have come from and through team member comments and ideas.
