Position Description:
You will test Ford’s latest chassis control strategies in a hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop environment. The Ford Core Vehicle Controls Software team is looking for an engineer to have the responsibility for validating chassis controls. You will join a team, with the opportunity to restrengthen existing robust verification methods, support test execution, and demonstrate results through data analysis and reporting. What you will be able to do • Perform Software Validation testing, analysis, and reporting for production software on HIL and SIL • Analyze test results and troubleshoot issues to determine root cause • Report issues using automated reporting systems such as JIRA • Store and retain documents and test records according to established Ford guidelines
Skills Required:
• Solid understanding of vehicle structure, subsystems, and components (Steering and Brakes) • Understanding of Module Hardware/Software Architectures (ABS, PSCM, PCM, BCM, etc.)
Skills Preferred:
• Familiar with Matlab/Simulink for SIL and HIL applications • Understanding of testing methodologies and ability to utilize test equipment (multi meter, scope, logic analyzer, etc.)
Experience Required:
• 1 years’ experience in automotive embedded systems software • Experience with HIL test setup, modeling, and environment builds
Experience Preferred:
• Experience with CAN networks and OBD systems and demonstrated ability to utilize related tools (CANalyzer, Diagnostic tools, etc.)
Education Required:
Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science or related field
Education Preferred:
Master's degree in electrical engineering, Computer Science or related field
