Description

• Permanent position for an East Coast Sales Manager responsible for technical project selling of specialty chemical additives.
• This is a remote / travel position with a global specialty manufacturer of additives for various industrial applications, including coatings, adhesives, food, and building products.
• Responsible for new business development by researching and developing new customers and markets.
• Grow existing $5 million customer base by at least 25% within 1-3 years.
• Use value added selling and negotiating skills to close sales.
• Respond to customer inquiries.
• Travel to east coast customer sites and overnight travel at least one week per month.

Requirements

• BS Chemistry or Chemical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of chemical industry sales experience.
• Experience with performance or specialty chemicals preferred.
• Prefer experience in sales of defoamers, wetting agents, thickeners and dispersants, or waxes.
• Experience in selling to coatings, adhesives, inks, construction, and powder coatings markets.
• Experience and ability to work in a team based sales environment.
• Excellence in negotiating with a strong sense of urgency.
• Seeking someone located in the Northeastern US.
• Requires 60% travel to east coast customer sites and overnight travel at least one week per month.
