Hours: 6am - 2:30pm

Job Summary

Engineered Corrosion Solutions (ECS) is looking for someone to fill the role of Pipe Sample Technician. This role will support our pipe sample analysis process, working closely with the ECS Consulting Group and reporting to the Production Team Foreperson. ECS analyzes pipe samples for a wide variety of clients in the fire protection industry, and this role will support that growing effort in the handling, preparation, processing, and analysis of pipe samples.

Responsibilities and Duties

Core Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the intake and processing of raw sprinkler pipe samples into a state fit for further analysis.
  • Responsible for thorough data capture during each of the pipe sample processing steps.
  • Punctuality and consistent work across the standard workday.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment in an industrial environment.
  • Managing and self-directing work pace during a given shift.
  • Ability to learn about and work in other areas of the production operation.

Day-to-day activities

  • Operating a bandsaw and media blaster to process raw pipe samples into an analysis state.
  • Operating a picture capture station to image and record data on pipe samples.
  • Measuring pipe samples with hand measurement tools and recording data into a database.
  • Working on a computer to operate picture capture software and enter data into Excel and database software. Light file management and word processing work.
  • Working with the production foreperson to improve operations as needed.

How does the position fit into the organization?

  • This position reports to the Production Team Foreperson and works closely with the Consulting Group.
  • This role offers substantial opportunities for professional development. While pipe sample processing is the core responsibility of this role, there will be the opportunity to learn from fellow production team members about their processes and skills. Additionally, the person in this role can expand into managing more parts of the pipe sample analysis process, including preliminary report writing, metrology, failure analysis, and more.

Pay

  • $17-19 per hour
  • Occasional overtime available.
