As our Renewable Operations Engineer Intern, in Chicago, IL, you will support the reliability, performance, and operation of large wind, solar, and energy storage projects throughout North America. The goal of this internship program is to provide you with valuable engineering experience in the fast growing field of renewable energy.

What you'll do:

• Learn about the basic functions of a wind turbine's major subsystems and their components
• Learn about top failure modes of utility scale wind turbines and repair / replacement methods
• Participate in condition monitoring efforts on wind turbine drivetrain components
• Learn about different technical aspects of a wind turbine (Main Bearings, Gearboxes, Pitch Bearings, YAW Bearings, Generators, Blades)
• Attend a site visit to learn about different renewable technologies
• Participate in Root Cause Analysis DMAIC processes for top issues affecting ENGIE's fleet of 1200 onshore wind turbines in North America
• Attend visits to subcomponent suppliers to learn how components are built and designed

What you bring

• Enrolled in a college or university pursuing a degree in mechanical/electrical engineering or related field
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Ability to meet highest attendance requirements
• You communicate effectively, both written and verbally.
• You enjoy handling multiple assignments on a timely basis with a high degree of accuracy

Compensation

Salary Range: $21.00-$34.00 USD, hourly
