JOB SUMMARY

This job is a senior level position with oversight of the finance and financial planning and analysis activities of HM Health Solutions (HMHS), an entity comprised of four service lines (commercial platform, infrastructure, print and Thryve) which total over $1 billion in revenue. Reporting to the CEO of HMHS, dotted line to the President of HMHS, and dotted line to the enterprise CFO, they are responsible for all financial and commercialization activities. They serve as the senior finance leader for HMHS, and as such have responsibility for the budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, pricing and cost management processes. They are responsible for all new client value modeling and business as usual financial and operating forecasts. This includes responsibility for contracting for all APS, BPS, Managed Infrastructure, Data Center Hosting and Print Services and supporting the sales team and product teams by helping prospects with business case development and other financial aspects of the sales and new product processes. Coordinates the delivery to HMHS of strategy and finance functions executed at the parent company level, including financial accounting, financial reporting, cost allocations, procurement and tax services. On a regular basis, this senior leader will interact with executives across the company for strategic planning purposes. This leader will partner with the VP of Strategy to adequately fund and support the HMHS’ transformation roadmap ensuring the development and achievement of key performance indicators including several that are shared across companies within the enterprise. They will operationalize and maintain the reporting cadence to ensure all financial targets are met, and shared with key stakeholders as appropriate. This leader will partner with the VP of Workforce Operations who will have a dotted line to the CFO regarding demand and capacity planning, and the connection to project and investment delivery, and the financials. Finally this role will be responsible for the Value Realization of HMHS investments including but not limited to the investments in Platform Modernization, HM Document Solutions, and Thryve.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Perform management responsibilities to include, but are not limited to: involved in hiring and termination decisions, coaching and development, rewards and recognition, performance management and staff productivity. Plan, organize, staff, direct and control the day-to-day operations of the department; develop and implement policies and programs as necessary; may have budgetary responsibility and authority.
  • Finance: Serve as the most senior finance leader for HMHS. Lead the finance activities for HMHS, which includes direct responsibility for budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, pricing and cost management. Coordinates all financial activities including annual planning and quarterly reporting to the enterprise. For clients, responsible for financial planning and analysis, project budgeting and pricing. Effective partnership with Health Plan and Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis teams, supporting analysis of current and projected results.
  • Commercialization: Accountable for leading and negotiating all ASP and BPS term sheets and contracts, involving the law department as appropriate. Accountable for researching, compiling and analyzing competitive market intelligence for the purpose of accurate and confident decision-making in determining market penetration strategy, and market development metrics. Accountable for customer segmentation and targeting to determine potential pipeline. Recommend which opportunities support our business case and implementing segmentation by optimizing products/services for that segment.
  • Vendor: accountable for managing all software and hardware vendor relationships (estimated over $400million annually) for the organization in partnership with Procurement and accurate pass through invoicing to clients.
  • Operational Excellence and Transformation Strategy Enablement: In partnership with the HMHS leaders, identify opportunities for cost savings to reach industry standard operating margins. Includes generating thinkUP initiatives and validating P&L pull through for approved initiatives. Develop and manage balanced scorecard including some cross-company shared metrics.
  • Workforce Operations: via the dotted line relationship with the VP Workforce Operations, build and execute a workforce planning strategy and process to build both short and long term demand and capacity plans. This includes but is not limited to developing and maintaining resource management and tools to enable and foster internal mobility. Ensure connection of all demand and capacity planning to financial reporting.
  • Strategy Value Realization: Responsible for all projections and business cases for the HMHS investment portfolio including the Modernization business case valued at over $300M. Develop and maintain portfolio governance and metrics for success. Responsible for initiative management – annual funding and prioritization process as well as status and value realization tracking.
