Job Description

As an R&D Chemist specializing in solvent extraction, you will play a key role in our research and development efforts to optimize and advance our lithium extraction processes. Leveraging your expertise in chemistry and solvent extraction techniques, you will contribute to the development of novel methodologies for extracting lithium from various sources, with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and scalability. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to translate research findings into practical solutions that drive our company's technological advancement and competitive edge in the lithium industry.

Key Responsibilities

Design and conduct experiments to develop and optimize solvent extraction processes for lithium recovery from different sources such as brines, ores, and recycling materials.

• Evaluate the performance of various solvent systems and extraction techniques to enhance lithium recovery efficiency and purity.
• Collaborate with process engineering teams to scale up and integrate developed extraction processes into production systems.
• Stay abreast of the latest advancements in solvent extraction, lithium chemistry, and related fields to inform research directions and technological innovations.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and patents to document research findings and intellectual property.
• Contribute to the development of safety protocols and ensure compliance with regulatory standards in laboratory operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree or higher in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or a related field with a focus on lithium chemistry, solvent extraction, or hydrometallurgy.
• Proven experience in solvent extraction techniques, preferably in the context of lithium extraction or commercial solvent extraction.
• Proficiency in experimental design, data analysis, and interpretation.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet project deadlines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working in the lithium industry or related sectors such as battery materials, energy storage, or mineral processing.
• Familiarity with process simulation software and modeling tools.
• Knowledge of regulatory requirements and environmental considerations related to lithium extraction processes.
