energysolutions is Hiring a Training Specialist Near Charlotte, NC

Job Description/Tasks/Responsibilities

  • Designs, develops and delivers training on a variety of subjects for EnergySolutions organizations and customers as requested. Uses and remains current on instructional techniques and formats customized to meet employee, corporate and customer needs and regulatory requirements.
  • Designs, develops and delivers training and qualification materials using the Systematic Approach to Training (SAT).
  • Ensures training materials adhere to all applicable rules, regulations and licenses.
  • Creates training material in multiple delivery methods (e.g., classroom, Web-based and computer-based).
  • Assists in the identification of evaluation methods and tools for measuring results.
  • Ensures classrooms are appropriate in size and have all necessary equipment (e.g., audiovisual aids and computers).
  • Reviews documentation such as procedures/regulatory changes, lessons learned, corrective actions, operating experience and training feedback to determine impacts to training program materials.
  • Monitors, evaluates and records training activities.
  • Works with applicable Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) during the development of training materials to ensure technical accuracy.
  • Ensures training courses are instructionally sound and adhere to quality standards.
  • Maintains knowledge, skills and abilities that ensure competence commensurate with assigned responsibilities.
  • Use various feedback methods to evaluate the effectiveness of training (e.g., feedback questionnaires, field observations).
  • Performs periodic review of training program material to ensure technical accuracy.
  • May serve as a mentor to a Training Specialist 1 and direct his/her work.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach basic courses and some advanced courses on technical subject matter.
  • Modifies training materials to meet the needs of a particular audience/individual and provides “expert” advice to employees on a particular topic.
  • Demonstrated SME on applicable training topics.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Ability to sit
  • Ability to effectively communicate; speaking, reading, understanding, writing and hearing clear English; pass audiogram in hearing conservation program as required by location
  • Basic math and computer skills
  • Ability to work inside an office
  • Ability to perform highly repetitive motions with fingers, hands, wrists, and shoulders
  • Ability to work alone, work with others, and interact with the public
  • Ability to perform under deadline pressure
  • Ability to understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines

MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required or equivalent combination of education and experience

Certifications

  • None required
  • Ability to obtain certifications, site/facility qualifications/credentials and security clearances as required for assigned work
  • Completion of instructor qualification required
  • Certified Technical Trainer (CTT) or Certified Professional in Learning and Performance (CPLP) preferred

Required Experience

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in training in the nuclear industry
