Summary:
As an OE Safety Support Specialist, you'll reinforce and further our culture of excellence and results. Our Organizational Excellence (OE) program and EH&S initiatives are committed to fostering teamwork, emphasizing both public and individual safety, and safeguarding the environment across various sectors such as operations, measurement, and engineering & construction (E&C). Your role will promote our commitment to continuous improvement and in preemptively addressing risks to prevent adverse events that could impact our stakeholders or the environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
*Collaborate actively with Operations, Measurement, and E&C teams to discuss, evaluate and address trends in unwanted events, injuries and illnesses.
*Offer regional support and occasionally lead company-wide projects/initiatives like OE Safety Leadership workshops, hazard awareness campaigns, etc.
*Engage with Operations Leadership to evaluate and address potential risks and incidents.
*Serve as the primary point of contact for queries related to OE and Safety initiatives.
*Act as a liaison for various software programs such as WorkCare, Element Safe Driving Software, MSDS On-Line, Chemtrec, Intelex/IMS, Job Plans, ET MOC, Engagement App, OpsHub, etc., ensuring smooth operations and resolving issues.
*Advocate for the ET Operations Playbook's principles and values such as our 'We Believe' principles, 'LifeSavers', the 'Excellence Pyramid' and continuous improvement.
*Spearhead incident investigations, often taking the role as the lead investigator, collaborating with Legal and management teams when required.
*Draft and distribute key "Lessons Learned" documents for continuous improvement.
*Track the follow-through of action items stemming from incident investigations.
*Offer training and insights regarding risk-reducing tools such as Job Plans and MOCs.
*Monitor operational safety goals and coordinate discussions with Division Safety Specialists which may include topics such as safety procedures proposed under review or update, trends, observations, proposed or current partnership wide initiatives and campaigns, as well as industry wide current trends.
*Provide support with integrations of newly acquired companies, ensuring alignment with our safety and excellence standards.
*Provide expert insights as a document owner or subject matter expert on specific company-wide safety procedures as assigned.
Requirements:
Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

*A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or comparable experience.
*Comprehensive knowledge of safety and organizational excellence principles.
*Stellar communication and presentation skills.
*Proficiency in public speaking.
*Team player, adept at working with various teams and individuals.
*Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to trendspotting and enhancements.
*Familiarity with industry-standard software tools related to safety and operations.
*Strong project management skills and the ability to lead and manage cross-functional initiatives.
*Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and ensure data privacy standards are maintained.
*Cultural awareness, especially when integrating new companies or working with diverse teams.
*Technological adeptness to stay updated with emerging safety technologies and practices.
Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:
*Experience in incident investigations and safety support is preferred.
*Certification in safety-related fields or continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., OSHA, Six Sigma) is a plus.
