Energy Transfer Family of Partnerships is Hiring a Manager - Pipeline Integrity Near Houston, TX

Summary: Maintain Company Integrity Intrastate Management Plan, staying current with pipeline regulations, industry standards, integrity assessment methods and repair methods.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Using Engineering principles, provides oversight and manages the pipeline integrity management plan for inline inspection projects for the Company’s intrastate integrity group.
  • Implement, update and evaluate on an ongoing basis ET’s Gas and Liquid Integrity Management Plan, as well as standards, forms and procedures to support the IMP, ensuring compliance with all Federal and State pipeline safety regulations. Documents IMP related decisions, philosophies, and results.
  • Oversees the coordination and scheduling of Internal Line Inspections (ILI) smart pig surveys, anomaly dig activities and pipeline pressure tests. Works with project managers to analyze ILI data with communication and coordination of pipeline repair activities in response to ILI anomalies. Performs threat and risk analysis.
  • Responsible for providing engineering support in the evaluation of integrity assessment results to identify necessary remediation. Advises engineering and construction groups to facilitate long term operation, maintenance and assessment of newly installed or retrofitted facilities.
  • Supports, prepares and recommends annual operating budget and is responsible for monthly cost projections. Provides problem resolution for timelines related to projects.
  • Works with operations, gas control, corrosion, GIS and other integrity personnel on a regular basis for efficient implementation of the pipeline integrity plan.
Requirements: Education and/or experience, knowledge, skills & abilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • 8 years of experience, including experience in pipeline design, pipeline repair, corrosion control, and inspection and integrity.
  • Must have an understanding of all applicable codes and regulations such as 49CFR Part 195, Texas Administrative Code Rule 8.101, API 1162, and others.
  • Strong oral/written communication skills, administrative/organizational skills and analytical/problem solving skills required.
  • Ability to effectively organize, plan, prioritize, document and complete work independently.
  • Demonstrate initiative and ability to manage multiple work tasks and changing priorities.
  • Ability to analyze data and apply critical thinking skills to generate options and solutions.
  • Solid understanding of pipeline assessments, operations, maintenances and pipeline risk based asset integrity management.
  • Strong computer skills including but not limited to solid proficiency with MS Excel, and pipeline risk software.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • BS in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical or Metallurgy).

1. Usually, normal office working conditions.
2. Must be able to remain in a stationary position at times due to prolonged periods of sitting or standing.
3. Travel, including overnight travel, required.
4. Occasional visits to industrial/manufacturing settings which may include hazardous materials and chemicals, as well as extreme temperature conditions and loud machinery, and require appropriate personal protective equipment.
