Enercon Services, Inc. is Hiring a Seismic/Geotechnical Engineer Near Kennesaw, GA

Overview

Join us in this dynamic role where you'll play a crucial part in providing seismic/geotechnical engineering support for both Nuclear and Commercial Projects. With numerous projects spanning various disciplines, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate closely with a diverse team of engineers and clients. 

Responsibilities

Due to this continued growth, our Chiefs Group is seeking a Seismic/Geotechnical Engineer in our Kennesaw, GA, Tampa, FL or FT Worth, TX office locations or remote. This position can be Full-time hybrid, or remote for PT, or LTLB. In this role, you will provide seismic/geotechnical engineering support for Nuclear and Commercial Projects. Most projects are multi-disciplined and require extensive interface with other engineers as well as our clients.

  • Experience in geotechnical earthquake engineering
  • Perform settlement analysis, site response analysis, site characterization
  • Perform Liquefaction and Slope Stability Analysis.
  • Develop Engineering reports and licensing documents.
  • Serve as a technical expert in geotechnical engineering, providing consultation on Site Geotechnical Exploration, Geotechnical Analysis and Testing, Construction Permit Application for new NPPs
  • Maintain up to date and relevant knowledge of industry codes and standards, regulations, and design and analysis techniques suitable to the nuclear industry
  • Perform design verification and peer reviews of engineering evaluations, designs and documentation produced by others
  • Prepare high quality, error-free engineering deliverables and reports according to industry codes, standards, regulations, and guidelines and in accordance with client and ENERCON Quality Assurance (QA) Programs 
  • Participate in project meetings to discuss technical and project issues (e.g., design, scope, schedule, and budget) 
  • Provide guidance, instruction and mentoring to less experienced engineers
  • Support proposal development including defining the technical scope, estimating the required level of engineering hours, and other project related costs
  • Build strong relationships with clients through professional interactions and communications
  • Consult with other disciplines to ensure designs are compatible with and have considered all disciplinary requirements
  • Travel to plant sites to interface with client personnel, and to perform walk downs of plant structures, systems, and components related to the project work scope

Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in civil engineering from an accredited university with experience in applying seismic/geotechnical engineering principles
  • Minimum 10 years of engineering experience
  • PE certification preferred
  • Experience in the geotechnical design and analysis, preferably at nuclear power plants
  • Thorough understanding of seismic/geotechnical engineering fundamentals and applications
  • Experience in seismic and geotechnical analysis software such as PLAXIS, FLAC3D, SASSI and SHAKE91
  • Knowledge of codes, standards, regulations, guidelines such as ASCE 7, ASCE 4, IBC, NUREG and EPRI Guidelines
  • Ability to gain and maintain unescorted access at nuclear sites
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and provide technical guidance to support staff
  • Ability and willingness to apply established technical knowledge to less familiar applications
  • Flexibility to respond and adapt to client and project needs.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in teams
  • Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs, ranging from a few days to a few weeks
