Encore Vet Group is Hiring a Veterinary Criticalist - Friendship Hospital For Animals Near Washington, DC

We are expanding and seeking an additional board-certified or board-eligible Veterinary Criticalist to join our busy Emergency and Critical Care Department. We are a well-established team of over 70 veterinarians and 200 well-trained professionals. This is an exclusive opportunity to be part of a network of veterinary professionals revolutionizing animal health care through collaboration, expertise and cutting-edge research! 

The applicant should possess excellent communication skills, a focus on teamwork and collaboration and an interest in building client relationships. District of Columbia veterinary license is not initially required, however an approved application must be on file with DC prior to beginning employment.

Responsibilities:

  • Caring for in-hospital patients in the ICU and Progressive Care Unit
  • Collaborating with specialists, emergency doctors and general practitioners to ensure the best care for all patients
  • Mentoring rotating interns
  • Communicating with clients
  • Communicating with referring veterinarians
  • Training and mentoring support staff
  • Attending and participating in cage-side and didactic rounds, in-house CE and all urgent care meetings
