Full Job Description

Position Title: Accounts Receivable Clerk

Reports To: Controller

Purpose: Manage full life cycle of accounts receivable. Drive a positive customer experience culture. Compute, classify, and record numerical data to keep financial records complete. Perform any combination of routine calculating, posting, and verifying duties to obtain primary financial data for use in maintaining accounting records. Check the accuracy of figures, calculations, and postings pertaining to business transactions that are recorded by other workers.

Responsibilities:

  • Full responsibility of customer invoicing/close out process – including, but not limited to, reviewing sales orders submitted by operations department for accuracy, and sending invoices to customers
  • Auditing invoice activity in order to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Applying cash receipts and making bank deposits
  • Communicating with clients in regards to past due invoices, i.e. collections
  • Performing clerical/administrative functions including; data entry, typing, file maintenance, document preparation
  • Supporting sales and operations departments as needed
  • Ensuring that margins and markups are calculated and reported accurately as this has a significant financial impact

About the role:

· You will help distinguish our company with professionalism, best practices and deliverables that build customer loyalty. Among the responsibilities of the role are:

· Accounts receivable - Processing 1200-1800 invoices monthly

· Data Entry - Enter data into multiple software (Netsuite, SPS Commerce, etc.) and ensure accuracy and integrity of numbers and associated documents.

· Customer account maintenance

· Handle day-to-day bookkeeping responsibilities for small affiliated entities

· Minimum Qualifications:

· · Microsoft Office Excel – basic to intermediate

· · Strong analytical and mathematical skills

· · Extremely organized with a high level of attention to detail

· · Able to multi task, follow-up and complete work in a timely manner

· · Ability to work independently and maintain confidentiality is required

· · Strong communication skills and able to interact with various clients effectively

· · Maintain appropriate documentation of all work using electronic means

· · Other duties may be assigned

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Ability to handle confidential and business sensitive data (pricing information, customer information, etc.)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a member of a team
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve accounting problems
  • Ability to analyze information in order to draw conclusions
  • Must possess a strong attention to detail
  • Microsoft Excel skills including choosing the right mathematical methods or formulas to solve a problem
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills which includes the ability to effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers
  • Ability to remain flexible and adapt to changing environments
  • Maintain high energy and a positive attitude on a regular basis
  • Ability to identify and solve customer issues and/or problems

Education/Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Computer Skills

  • In order to successfully perform the essential responsibilities of the job, one must possess the following computer and program skills:
  • Microsoft Office Suite including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Overall comfortability with navigating through multiple windows, screens and/or programs simultaneously
  • Knowledge of Netsuite a plus but not required

Language Ability

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of an organization.

Math Ability

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23-$24/Hr
