We are looking to find a team member likeyou who is dedicated to improving the lives of some of our most vulnerable populations in the County. We are currently hiring a Full-Time Clinical Lead for the El Dorado Center, a 16 –bed transitional Rehabilitation Center for clients struggling with mental health and co-occurring disorders located in Santa Cruz.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Clinician II for EDC reports to the EDC Program Operations Manager and leads therapeutic services in a residential setting that specializes in Mental Health and Crisis Care. As a Clinician II, this position is responsible for supporting and overseeing care for individual clients, as well as maintaining the safety of clients within a trauma informed framework, for the duration of their stay at EDC. The Clinician II provides feedback and clinical support to other staff members, and oversees high quality documentation to meet Medi-Cal standards in order to support the clinical integrity of the treatment milieu. This is an interactive clinical position that carries a caseload, and provides clinical leadership to an experienced team of counselors who work with a complicated population of clients struggling with severe and chronic mental illness, as well as co-occurring disorders.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Consistently uses a Motivational Interviewing approach and models that approach for other staff.
  • Understands the Trauma Informed Care Model and supports a Trauma Informed environment at EDC for staff and clients.
  • Understands and promotes a Mindfulness Based model and supports best practices for staff and clients within the residential setting.
  • Determines medical necessity, diagnoses and Level of Care needed for each client.
  • Identifies best practice interventions, and approaches with the counselor team for client care.
  • Carries an agreed upon caseload of clients.
  • Runs therapeutic groups as indicated.
  • Monitors and approves all Avatar requirements as needed to ensure deadlines (e.g., progress notes, treatment plans, diagnoses).
  • Reviews Discharge Summaries for accuracy and completion as necessary.
  • Completes Psychosocial Assessments in a timely manner as required per Medi-Cal Standards.
  • Attends Encompass and County QIC meetings consistently, as necessary.
  • Attends and acts as a Lead for EDC Clinical Meetings.
  • Establishes close working relationships with residents in the program.
  • Performs clinical duties, which includes individual counseling, crisis intervention, facilitation of house meetings, and groups if indicated.
  • Provides clinical feedback individually to counselors and ongoing clinical feedback during counselor meetings as needed.
  • Participates in maintaining a safe, clean and sober environment.
  • Reports all clinical deficiencies to Program Managers immediately

Qualifications:

  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred (not required)
  • A history of passion for working with underserved populations and a dedication to creating a healing environment at the facility for persons served.
  • Minimum Masters’ Degree in Psychology, Counselling, Social Work or other related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of related experience with management, and working with clients who have mental health and co-occurring disorder challenges.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as with co-workers, and to manage time well.
  • Computer literacy skills required, including experience with electronic health records, and documentation.
  • Experience leading and building teams, and implementing improvement processes.

Wages & Benefits:
Pay rat is $32-$35.00/hour depending on experience
