Objective

Our objective is to provide quality care to all children while remaining compliant with Enchantment Kid's philosophy, mission and goals. We expect the Teachers to be kind, helpful, self-starters, educated, loving, compassionate, enthusiastic, professional and creative at all times. It is our daily duty to maintain a safe environment remaining cognizant of the security policy and evacuation procedures keeping the children safe and free from risk.

Shift

The available hours to work are: Full- Time 9:00 am-6:00 pm

Responsibilities

• Supervise and insure the safety and well-being of the children at all times, being alert for the needs and/or problems of the children as individuals and as a group
• Assist Lead Teacher in any way possible, which may include, but is not necessarily limited to:
• Plan curriculum in detail for assigned classes
• Implement the daily program for assigned classes
• Decorate the room with bulletin boards, pictures, children's art work, and other hangings
• Prepare a snack and sit with children while they eat it
• Keep classroom, storage rooms, and bathroom clean, neat, and orderly
• Attend regular staff planning and evaluation meetings
• Assistants are encouraged to attend local in-service workshops
• Be familiar with and follow all DFPS Minimum Standards and Enchantment Kid’s policies
• Report to Director any special needs or problems of individual children
• Handle disobedience promptly and in accordance with stated policy on Behavioral Patience
• May assume temporary responsibilities of teacher in the absence of the teacher

Qualifications

• Education: Must have a high school diploma and some college credit or equivalent experience.
• Experience: Previous teaching experience or experience working with children preferred.
• Personal Qualities: Need to be friendly and inviting. Need to adapt easily and enjoy learning.

Compensation is commensurate depending on education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $13.00 - $17.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
