Enbridge Gas Ohio is hiring an Engineer II to manage and lead our Internal Corrosion program. The Engineer will continue to develop programs, and process related to internal corrosion all while serving as Company expert on internal corrosion issues. They will also be responsible for developing and maintaining comprehensive internal corrosion procedures to meet the letter and spirit for regulatory codes, which could include making recommendations, managing projects, and implementing processes to mitigate internal corrosion.

Here's what you will do:

  • Schedule liquid and gas sampling.

  • Provide technical support for operational pipeline cleaning activity.

  • Modify and create models (flow, elevation, liquids, perform scenario analysis).

  • Evaluate and implement installation of gas sampling equipment.

  • Manage data acquisition and analysis, coordination of field activities, and the implementation of preventative and mitigative measures.

  • Participate in audits and provides continuous improvement of the Internal Corrosion program.

  • Review construction drawings to insure proper design for internal corrosion prevention.

  • Provide engineering support in designated company area, or specific engineering discipline.

  • Perform and/or review engineering calculations, analysis, research, and design.

  • Provide cost analysis as needed and develops recommendation based on calculations (e.g., cost for equipment upgrade) for management review.

  • Under direction of supervisor or work leader, exercise independence in evaluating, selecting, and applying standard or well-defined engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.

Who you are:

You have:

  • A minimum of 3 years of relevant engineering experience with a Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

  • Required to obtain NACE/AMPP Corrosion certifications with the ability to perform technical calculations after hire.

  • Knowledge and application of engineering theories and principles, concepts, and fundamentals.

  • Developmental experience in a professional engineering position.

  • Competency in applying engineering principles, fundamental concepts, practices, and procedures requiring some evaluation, originality and/or ingenuity to achieve project objectives.

  • Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to facilitate and/or work with multiple project teams simultaneously.

  • Effective strong decision-making skills.

  • Effective strong oral and written communication skills (includes technical writing).

  • Strong excel reporting skills.

  • Understand and can apply knowledge of configuration management.

  • Perform engineering calculations using applicable software programs (e.g. Excel, etc.).

  • Think analytically and solve complex problems.

  • Interpret codes, regulations, and practices.

  • Process information quickly and effectively manage multiple tasks.

  • Develop and exercise leadership skills.

Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:

Grasping, kneeling, light - moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.

Ability to: understand, remember and apply oral and/or written instructions or other information, understand complex problems and collaborate/explore alternative solutions, organize thoughts and ideas into understandable terminology, organize and prioritize work schedule on a short-term basis, make decisions which have moderate impact on the immediate work unit and monitor impact outside this area, understand and follow basic instructions and guidelines, complete routine forms, compose letters, outlines, memoranda and basic reports and communicate with individuals via telephone.
