The Cash Poster is accountable for auditing, identifying, researching, and reconciling monies with clients monthly. As a Cash Poster With Wittman Enterprises, You Will
- Verify insurance allowable in system or reference material.
- Verify patient responsibility.
- Write-offs and account adjustments.
- Retrieve payments and EOB’s from Document Management System.
- Post all insurance, private payments, and denials to patient accounts accurately and balance all checks.
- Verify cash posting amounts, write-offs, discounts, transfers, denials; match up debits and credits, balance out to close batch.
- Work all assigned Cash Receipts workflows.
- Contact payors to obtain EOBs or payment information.
- Research and notate accounts with proper payments details.
- Forward check and back up documents to Cash Refunds Representative for research. File copy as required.
- Accuracy of bank deposit.
- Research and respond on payment accounts from internal and clients.
- Monitor and pull needed EOBs timely to ensure clients meet close date.
- Month End Close- reconcile to clients records, update Close Dashboard, and follow up with contacts as needed and communicate with client for approval. .
- Report all posting errors to Lead, Supervisor or Manager. Document any posting errors in patient account notes, as required.
- Knowledge of government payor programs and insurance EOBs.
- Audit cash posting to identify and communicate trends to minimize posting errors.
- Communicate with payors, staff and clients as needed.
- Adhere to policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED
- Medical Insurance Knowledge- verifying benefit coverage.
- Prior experience with Medicare, Medicaid/Medi-Cal, private insurance billing guidelines.
- Payor-specific requirements and guidelines for Cash Posting Department.
- HIPAA Knowledge.
- Flexible with shifting daily priorities.
- Meet deadlines, work within tight time constraints.
- Handle a large volume of work.
- Identify pertinent information from data on reports or other documents.
- Process batches with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Meet or exceed and sustain established standards for productivity and quality.
- Terminology on a Patient Care Report (PCR), Hospital Face Sheet, and/or a Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) Sheet.
- Good computer knowledge such as Excel, Word, Open Office, Outlook and PowerPoint.
- A Fast thinker can work independently with problem solving skill.
- Ability to communicate professionally, accurately, and effectively, both verbal and written, as well as on the telephone.
