POSITION SUMMARY

In this role you will assist in the education and training of EMS staff. This individual will support internal customer service, as well as field customer service representatives. The microscopist will provide expertise with SEM, TEM, as well as advanced electron microscopy sample preparation techniques to EMS customers and staff.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Support customers regarding TEM, SEM, Cryo, and LM applications related to queries into EMS catalog items including DiATOME Diamond Knives.
  • Support field sales and customer service team.
  • Develop simplified technical training curriculum for field sales team.
  • Conduct virtual as well as some onsite equipment demonstrations or workshops. In particular, the Prepmaster 5100 Automatic Tissue Processor.
  • Attend trade show exhibitions as required.
  • Learn the process of accurately assembling custom quotations for the Quorum product line.
  • Develop skills required for basic application troubleshooting via phone or TEAMS, as well as select instruments from the EMS catalog.
  • Oversees user operations to ensure instruments are used safely, effectively, and that best-practice microscopy techniques are being followed.

  • Flexibility and adaptability to changing project requirements and priorities.


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • In depth knowledge of conventional and advanced electron microscopy techniques used with a wide variety of sample types and fields of research as applied to TEM, SEM, and Cryo.
  • Ability to support and interact with a large number of users having significant differences in microscopy experience and skills.
  • Associate degree in Biological Sciences or related field with at least 10 years of experience in a multi-user electron microscopy-based facility.


PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS

  • MSA Technician certification a plus.
  • Experience with light-level microscopy including routine Histological Techniques and Immunofluorescence.
  • Experience with materials science preparation and microscopy techniques a plus.
