• Follows written policies and procedures of the Laundry Department under the direction of the Supervisor.
• Performs assigned tasks to meet the requirements of the linen sorting, washing, folding,
• and storage.
• Observes infection control standards in the handling of linens and clothing.
• Sorts and washes soiled linens.
• Removes linens from dryers and sorts.
• Hangs or lays out garments that do not require pressing.
• Folds, counts, and stacks linen according to unit or area for delivery.
• Presses or hand irons articles as required.
• Inspects linen for wear and tear. Sets linen aside for final inspection and inventory prior to disposal, or sets aside for repair.
• Reports linen needs to Supervisor.
• Care and use of equipment and supplies, and cleanliness of work area.
• Cleans equipment and work area daily and as scheduled.
• Operates washers and dryers using established formulas and follow instructions for operation of machines.
• Cleans dryer lint traps.

• Ability to take initiative and show good judgment.
• Ability to become familiar with the physical arrangement of the Center.
• Demonstrates organizational skills and the ability to work both independently and as a team
