Mental Health Counselor/Therapist
Description:
Empowering Youth, Inc is seeking Mental Health Counselors who can provide individual and group therapy to students, provide behavioral interventions both directly and indirectly, serve as a resource to parents and staff, as well as complete appropriate paperwork and oversee student cases for multiple counseling programs. A completed Master's program in counseling, social work or marriage & family counseling is required.

Mental Health Counselors will provide behavioral health and prevention activities including individual counseling, family therapy and psycho-educational sessions. Therapist must be master level clinicians who use engagement tools such as motivational interviewing that can increase family and youth engagement.

Requirements:

• Master's in: counseling, social work or marriage & family counseling
• BLS/CPR Certified
• Case management experience
• EHR Experience
• Documentation Experience
• Familiar with Careplans
• Able to accomodate different personalities/educational levels/socioeconomic backgrounds and cultural backgrounds
• Work in in fast pace environment
• Excellent communication skills

Preferred:

• Familiar with CarePath (preferred)
• Able to work unsupervised
• Excellent with deadlines
• Skilled with Office, G Suite (Google Workspace), and Adobe
• Excellent at attention to detail
• Data entry skills

Duties:

• Perform initial evaluations of client needs and develop customized treatment plans.
• Educate staff and clients on stress and trauma coping mechanisms.
• Provide individuals with the resources they need to reach personal goals.
• Monitor client progress and modify their treatment plans as needed.
• Coordinate with social and medical agencies, healthcare providers and community outreach programs to provide clients with needed services.
• Complete continuing education courses to maintain National Certified Counselor certification and stay up-to-date on the latest practices.
• Implement evidence based interventions
• Knowledge of de-escalation techniques

Job Type: Contract

Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
