NEW PAY RATE $16/hour, work today and get paid tomorrow with Daily Pay! Shifts needed are 2p-10p through the week and every other weekend. Need a weekends ONLY option? We got that too 7a-7p!

No experience? No problem! We offer paid training!

All DSP applicants MUST have high school diploma or GED, be willing to work toward medication administration certification to pass medications and have valid driver's license with clean driving record < 6points to provide transportation for individuals into the community.

Direct Support Professional Job Description

Direct support professionals (DSPs) are people who work directly with Individuals with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities with the aim of assisting them to integrate with their communities. A DSP is a hero responsible to provide direct services and support to the individual, including, but not limited to: daily living skills and personal hygiene, assisting in maintaining a clean, safe living environment, meal preparation and completion of various household tasks; supervising, teaching, and assisting the individual in every aspect of their life, with the goals of fostering increased independence, choice and empowerment. A DSP may provide transportation and supports to a Individual at home, work, school, and other community places. A DSP is also an advocate, helping people in communicating needs, self-expression, and goals as well as assuring justice and equality in community life.

Direct Support Professional Specific Job Duties

  • Respect individual rights and confidentiality.
  • Be a role model, promote positive teamwork and assist w/staff development/training as assigned.
  • Read, know, and implement organizational policies and procedures.
  • Implement and document all individual services and supports.
  • Read, know, and implement Individual’s IP and Behavior Plan.
  • Report all pertinent medical information to nurses and follow nurses’ directions.
  • Remain alert to individuals’ behavior/physical changes and notify immediate supervisor.
  • Assist with and work to strengthen the individuals’ many daily living needs, including nutrition, hygiene, exercise, communication, and socialization skills
  • Help individuals as needed to bathe, groom, dress, participate in family style dining and other daily living skills, always working to improve self-reliance
  • Assist the individuals in maintaining a clean, neat and safe home environment.
