Position Summary

The Dispensing Pharmacist Lead is responsible for the oversight of duties for the Dispensing Pharmacists. The Lead will ensure that the technicians adhere to policies and procedures in order to provide quality customer service. The Lead will also coordinate and manage the Dispensing Pharmacist Team to ensure that service level standards and metrics are met.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Delivers ongoing coaching and training to improve individual and overall team performance.
  • Trains new team members.
  • Addresses and resolves team and customer conflicts/complaints.
  • Monitors and evaluates team performance.
  • Takes new verbal and refill prescription orders from providers on the VIIP (Very Important, Important People) line.
  • Collaborates with other colleagues to ensure effective and efficient order processing.
  • Possesses deep clinical knowledge of Empower product lines.
  • Navigates multiple internal computer systems.
  • Maintains confidentiality and ensure HIPAA compliance by protecting the privacy and security of protected health information (PHI).
  • Acts as subject matter expert for questions amongst Dispensing Pharmacist and dispensing technician team.
  • Responsible for receiving all controlled substance API and commercial stock.
  • Aids to ensure the pharmacy remains compliant with state and federal regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience and Qualifications
  • Certified with Texas Board of Pharmacy as a Pharmacist required.
  • One year of pharmacy experience or healthcare related experience required.
  • Experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
