The Deposit Operations Specialist I performs a variety of daily deposit processing functions in connection with consumer and business deposits including verifying accuracy of documents, requesting, and filing needed paperwork, and ensuring deposits are properly booked in the core system. This position should have working knowledge of regulations and compliance related to deposit operations and the associated internal policies and procedures. Essential Functions & Responsibilities: 35% Execution of deposit operations Policies and Procedures of all servicing functions of Deposit Products. Collaborating with the other area of the credit union to develop an integrated approach to account servicing that focuses on compliance, quality control and product management. Thorough knowledge and demonstrated ability to use all systems and equipment to perform all deposit operations including product set up. Audit all consumer and business accounts to ensure all documentation is correct and valid. Review core system to make sure accounts are set up correctly. Processes death claims, legal requests, research requests, verification of deposits, safe deposit boxes, and share certificate renewals timely and accurately. Maintain all IRA/HSA membership accounts and IRS reporting with Ascensus. 25% Developing operational excellence with a focus on member service while also minimizing risk for the credit Union. Overall responsible for execution of the daily functions that adhere to credit union policy, procedure, and compliance standards of the deposit function. 15% Keeps current with changes and provides due diligence in vendor systems, operations, compliance, and regulatory requirements. Researches and recommends implementation of new products and services. Meet compliance/audit goals and objectives as well as company strategic goals. 10% Provide feedback and reporting to areas processing deposit products to ensure compliance to Deposit Operations Procedures. Maintain department workflow an adhere to designated service level agreements 10% Responsible for ensuring effective communication to Empower FCU staff and members for the channel. 5% Performs other related duties or projects as assigned.
