Emporia State University is seeking a full-time Physical Plant Supervisor to join our Landscaping team located in Emporia, KS.

• Want to identify, plan, and implement landscaping objectives

• Establish a team environment that fosters a culture of safety and quality
• Write new and correct existing documents to reflect current work practices
• Manage inventory of supplies and equipment
• Plan and direct department activities to obtain safe and efficient operations
• Oversee inclement weather plans

• Starts at $19 per hour
• Is eligible for a comprehensive benefits package
• Works year-round; schedule is 7:00am-3:30pm, Monday-Friday with an occasional evening or weekend for football games and other special events

• A valid driver’s license
• High School Diploma or GED with at least five years of supervisory experience in the landscaping or grounds maintenance field. Relevant education may substitute for some required experience.
• Must have or obtain commercial pesticide applicator license within six months of hire

• Experience with installation, maintenance and repair of irrigation systems
• Athletic field painting and maintenance experience
• Horticulture degree or turf grass maintenance coursework
• Skid steer operator knowledge
• Small equipment maintenance knowledge

• Ability to lift or maneuver 75-100 pounds
• Standing or walking for 7 or more hours per shift
• Movements that require manual dexterity, trunk strength, wrist-finger movement, twisting, bending, pushing, and pulling
