OVERVIEW: The Assistant Program Director promotes the mission and values of the Supported Employment Program. They assist in supervising the Supported Employment Team and directs the services provided to customers. The Assistant Program Director is responsible for maintaining the successful operation, maintain all contractual agreements with funding organizations, including meeting accreditation requirements, develops and maintains program policies and procedures to achieve program objectives and goals. In consultation with the Executive Director the Assistant Program Director develops and implements plans to achieve program expansion and enhancements.

  • Continually enhancing and broadening the reach of development programs aimed at enriching people’s lives.
  • Embodies continuous improvement and has an intuition for identifying ways to improve all aspects of our work and making that happen directly and through the teamwork of others.
  • In consultation with the Executive Director and Executive Leadership, develops and implements plans to achieve program expansion and enhancements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Works directly with the Executive Director to establish program strategy, goals, and objectives.
  • Communicates vision to the Supported Employment team and monitors, supervises, and supports the team to achieve program goals and objectives as directed.
  • Meets and communicates regularly with funding agencies including Clark County, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation, School Districts, and others as required to meet all contractual obligations.
  • Maintains Business Practices, Standards for Quality Individualized Services and Standards for Employment Services which meet or exceed CARF Accreditation requirements.
  • Maintains financial operations and records to ensure revenues and expenses are processed and accounted for accurately and promptly.
  • Works with Corporate team to ensure that EO Corporate Policies and Procedures are adhered to in all operations of the Supported Employment Division.
  • Completes a Performance Evaluation for each team member annually on or about their anniversary date, setting individual objectives for the coming year.
  • Develops and presents information about vocational services to prospective consumers and their families, employers, service organizations and other entities that would have an interest in obtaining our services. This would include developing materials for and participating in consumer choice meetings.
  • Oversees and implements the processes for hiring new staff. This includes with the approval of the EO President making the decision for when program growth requires staff expansion. This also includes the orientation of new staff to all policies and procedures and new staff training.
  • Maintains staff teamwork and effective operations through regular staff meetings and finding trainings that enhance staff personal growth and professional performance.
  • Assistant Program Director along with the Executive Director are the face to the Supported Employment Program. It is encouraged to seek out and participate in public activities that promote the general welfare of the customers we serve. Some examples might be attendance at DDD Advisory Board Meetings, Advisory Board membership on boards that provide related services to our customers, participation and joining memberships in organizations that could be of benefit to us in achieving our mission goals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS – Required

  • 5 years’ experience in a leader management position; or a bachelor’s degree in social services; and a minimum of 5 years of working with individuals who experience a disability.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of computer and use of programs, i.e., Microsoft, Excel, etc.
  • Highly motivated and actively contributes to a collaborative environment that engages and challenges fellow team members in meeting organizational and personal goals.
  • Skilled in planning and prioritizing work effectively, working independently and with minimal supervision.
  • Meets project deadlines and supports Executive Director as needed to help maintain contracts.
  • Skilled in effectively operating standard office equipment including personal computer and related software.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and partners.
  • Awareness of differences among vulnerable populations and demonstrated ability to interact effectively with people from different cultures and experiences.
  • Demonstrated experience in partnership development and maintenance.
  • Demonstrated experience in data compilation, monitoring, and reviewing of current data to meet current contract needs.
  • Ability to gather, analyze, interpret data and conclusions using factual data in clear and concise written and oral formats.
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Washington/Oregon Background Authorization to work with individuals with disabilities. • Willingness to work flexible schedule.
  • Strong desire to build a program with the end goal of placing individuals with disabilities integrating into community meeting their goals of community and or employment opportunities.
  • Properly licensed and insured automobile, available for use during work hours. Auto Insurance with at least $100,000/ $300,000.
  • Experienced in networking and building programs and working with team to identify supports needed.
  • This position is currently a hybrid position in office, community, and or home office. This is an agreed upon model by executive management and can change at any time.
  • Work hours vary and may consist of after hour meetings, last minute travel needs; or occasional evening supports/networking and/or weekend assignments may occur.
