Make an Impact! Nursing analytical research statistical reporting skills = Trauma Registrar (RN)! As a Trauma Registrar RN, you will be responsible for overseeing the trauma registry database to include patient identification, abstraction, coding and entering data; retrieval and presentation of registry data for quality improvement, education and research. You will be working in conjunction with the Trauma PI Coordinator and will utilize advanced level of nursing care skills to evaluate and abstract data from health care records to ensure accurate statistical trauma data and concurrent quality identification. As a Trauma Registrar, you must be comfortable with interpreting medical clinical data and with advanced computing and data analysis skills.
Position: Trauma Registrar (RN)Shift: Monday through Friday, no weekends, no holidays. Start/End time is flexible but most individuals work 7:00am-3:30pm. Experience: 1. Excellent computer skills necessary to manage and manipulate a large database 2. Knowledge of ED/Critical care and medical/surgical patient care environment 3. Proficiency in the review and abstraction of clinical patient information from a medical record 4. Experience with performance improvement implementation programs 5. Mathematical ability necessary to validate and analyze data 6. Excellent organizational skills; detailed orientated; able to work independently as work load varies on a daily bases; able to meet deadlines. 7. Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with physicians and other staff8. Maintains open communication with other members of the trauma serviceEducation: 1. Graduate of an accredited nursing program.2. Bachelors of Science in Nursing preferred.Licensures/Certifications: 1. Registered Nurse with a current PA license OR a multi-state license verified in one of the approved states through the Nursing Licensure Compact.2. Completion of the Trauma Nurse Course & Critical Care Course required during orientation if not already held upon hire3. Certification in Critical Care or Emergency Nursing preferred4. Provider BLS (American Heart Assoc/American Red Cross) required.
