Salary Range $88,259 - $150,305 Per Year
JOB SUMMARY:
The Wireless Network and Technology Consultant will be responsible for Introducing, planning, and improving existing wireless infrastructure in the mining, construction, industrial markets across SITECH SW’s territories. Support new and existing clients by providing consulting services to identify new opportunities and optimizing existing networks and associated technologies. From design to sign off, manage wireless projects while consulting regularly with clients to provide timely updates and progress reports. Evaluate client needs and recommend the most appropriate upgrades/changes to the existing network. Stay current on the latest updates and newest developments in the industry to properly assess and provide clients the most accurate and best option suited to their needs. Be familiar with all associated STECH SW technologies.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Assess, identify, and educate clients on new opportunities to optimize their operation from a wireless network and technologies.
2. Develop and deliver professional detailed network designs including but not limited to routing and switching plans, LAN ingress/egress points, fixed and mobile infrastructure locations, and infrastructure/radio power plans.
3. Partner with SITECH and Empire account managers to consult and understand client’s needs and specifications to deliver secure, high performance, robust, and reliable network communications.
4. Evaluate and perform complete network coverage surveys in order to recommend upgrades or changes to existing networks.
5. Manage wireless projects from design to sign off, being responsible for all aspects of the project. Work with SITECH account managers to develop detailed quotes for all wireless projects.
6. Manage Installs, site calibrations, and assist with troubleshooting wireless network equipment.
7. Maintain client’s wireless networks for data transfer and communications to mobile devices and mobile equipment.
8. Present to client’s executive teams in a professional and informative manner relative to the client’s level of understanding.
9. Assist with hands-on training to internal and external clients as needed.
10. Commercially engaged with manufactures and vendors while keeping internal and external clients up to date with the latest technologies.
11. Travel to client sites up to 50% of the year.
12. Works safely at all times and makes safety the highest priority. Complies with all company and customer policies, procedures, and standards.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist and support fellow employees in the Mining, Construction, and Technology group.
2. Communicate with manager and to share updates and news.
3. Update ERP system with new and existing opportunities and site visits as needed.
4. Meet with key influencers and clientele regularly to provide updates and results.
5. Ensure all client issues are communicated and resolved.
6. Stay up to date with the latest industry news and developments.
7. Works within and promote corporate values.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
1. Strong computer skills with proficient experience on Microsoft Office 365 applications.
2. Strong understanding of wireless networking and implementation.
3. Ability to positively interact and contribute to a multi-disciplined and multi-cultural team environment.
4. Knowledge of commonly used computer software applications, including those used at mine sites.
5. Experience with Spectrum Analyzers.
6. Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
7. Able to work independently.
8. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
9. Ability to maintain consistent attendance.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED).
2. Bachelor’s degree in engineering and technology preferred or related field and/or equivalent experience.
3. Minimum 7 years of experience working with and supporting wired and wireless networks.
4. Training and/or experience working with Cisco, Rajant, Nokia or other network provider products preferred.
5. Certification with Cisco, Rajant, Nokia or other network providers preferred.
6. Experience with electrical/instrumentation and technical writing/presentations preferred.
7. Current and valid driver’s license.
8. Must be able to communicate (speak, read, comprehend, write) in English.
