Description

The Logan laboratory in the Department of Pediatrics at the Emory University School of Medicine is seeking a highly motivated Information analyst to join their team. The majority of the efforts with be dedicated to investigating the microbial characteristics and genetics of resistance in multidrug-resistant (MDR) gram-negative bacteria (primarily Enterobacterales) affecting children, healthy populations, animals, and the environment. The goal of this work is to identify community reservoirs of multi-drug resistant Enterobacterales, as infections with these organisms have continued to increase despite aggressive antibiotic stewardship and infection prevention campaigns in healthcare settings.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Collects, compiles and analyzes data.
  • Performs statistical analysis of data.
  • Maintains databases and records and generates reports related to analysis.
  • Assists in presenting results of analyses.

ADDITIONAL jOB DETAILS:

  • Under general supervision of the Principal Investigator or his/her designee and in collaboration with other members of the research team, the Information analyst will collect, compile and analyze data from multiple data sources.
  • Perform basic statistical analysis of data.
  • Maintain databases and records, and generate reports related to analysis.
  • The analyst works effectively within a group setting in areas of design of data collection instruments, database management, analysis of data, and creation of reports.
  • The analyst will assist in presenting results of analyses, provide explanations of analytic methods, and perform other duties as assigned by the Principal Investigator or designee.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree and two years of experience in compiling and analyzing data, or equivalent combination of experience, education, and training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A Master’s degree and/or some work experience in public health, biostatistics or epidemiology is preferable.
  • Coursework preferably includes some programming language and statistical software components.
  • The applicant should demonstrate effective interpersonal, oral and written communication skills and work well with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Also valued are excellent organizational skills and attention to detail essential, the ability to multi-task, remaining flexible and managing time effectively, have proficiency with personal computers including Microsoft Office and Database programs.
  • Must be willing to learn new database programsas needed.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University location as needed. All biweekly employees must reside within the State of Georgia. Emory reserves the right to change this status with notice to employee.
