JOB SUMMARY: The Division of Advancement and Alumni Engagement utilizes resources, technology, and business for the purpose of constituent engagement, donor research and solicitation, and stewardship throughout Emory University and Health Systems. The Content and Creative Strategy team consist of writers, designers, strategists, creators, and content marketers with a passion to engage and persuade donors to invest in the work of Emory. This position will report to the Director of Graphic Design.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

  • Assists in the strategic planning, design, and production of advancement communications materials in Advancement and Alumni Engagement.
  • Develops and designs content for fundraising proposals, strategic communications to donors and alumni, publications, web content, and other collateral.
  • Executes design strategies through data-driven decision making to create targeted marketing materials and campaigns.
  • Uses software to create and manipulate photographs and images.
  • Makes recommendations to enhance and works to create the visual components consistent with overall division communications strategy.
  • Research audience, trends, and best practices, staying abreast of the latest technology and design styles.
  • May work with outside vendors.
  • Makes recommendations for needed software, hardware and other resources.
  • Partners with other designers, writers, production coordinators, printers, and photographers to achieve project goals.
  • Performs related responsibilities as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A bachelor's degree in graphic design or a related field and three years of experience utilizing appropriate software OR an equivalent combination of experience, education and/or training.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful candidates will possess strong design skills and experience in offset and digital printing as well as electronic communications.
  • Visualization skills, with the ability to design for complex ideas in an impactful creative manner.
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while being highly detail-oriented and navigate a complex work environment.
  • Commitment to delivering excellent customer service, the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively, and comfort working with ambiguity.
  • Possess a high level of professionalism and commitment to confidentiality with sound judgment and discretion.
  • Advanced knowledge and experience working within the Adobe Creative Suite platform, experience working with Microsoft Office Suite, mass email applications, database and project management software, web reporting/analysis, and CRM systems.
  • Prior experience in advancement, fundraising, alumni engagement, non-profit, or a university setting.
  • Flexibility to accommodate changing priorities and deadlines.

NOTE: This role will be granted the opportunity to work from home regularly but must be able to commute to Emory University on a flexible weekly schedule based upon business needs Schedule is based on agreed upon guidelines of department. This role requires residency in the state of GA. Emory reserves the right to change remote work status with notice to employee.
