Summary 

The Vice President of Retail Sales is a key leadership role responsible for driving the company's retail sales strategy, achieving/exceeding revenue targets, and fostering a high-performance sales culture. This position reports directly to the Sr. VP of Sales and requires exceptional strategic thinking, sales management expertise, and a proven track record of delivering results.

Duties and Responsibilities 

· Develop and execute the on the Retail Sales Organization’s sales strategy in alignment with the company objective and revenue goals.

· Lead, mentor, and motivate the retail sales team to set goals, achieve and exceed sales targets, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent performance excellence.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders to drive business growth and expansion opportunities.

· Drive sales forecasting, pipeline management and revenue projections to inform strategic decision- making and resource allocation.

· Establish and maintain sales processes, methodologies, and performance metrics to optimize efficiency and effectiveness across the retail sales organization.

· Collaborate closely with Marketing, product development and other cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of sales efforts with product offering, market trends, and customer needs.

· Identify emerging market trends, competitive threats, and opportunities for innovation, providing actionable insights for strategic initiatives.

· Identify ways to generate additional revenue in the Retail channel by calling on different retail sub-segments, i.e. Foodservice at Retail. Alternative Channels, etc.

· Develop and implement sales training programs, tools, resources to enhance the skills and capabilities of the Retail sales team.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize Retail Sales Operations, streamline workflows, and enhance customer satisfaction.

· Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking forums to promote brand visibility and thought leadership.

· May personally participate in or negotiate strategic or high-value sales.

Qualifications 

· Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, related field or equivalent experience.

· Proven Track record of success in sales leadership roles, with at least 5-10 years of experience in senior sales management positions.

· Deep understanding of sales processes, methodologies, and best practices, with demonstrated expertise in driving sales performance and revenue growth.

· Strong strategic planning and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data, identify trends, and develop actionable insights.

· Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve common goals.

· Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with key clients, partners, and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

· Experience in deli and dairy cheese sales is preferred.

· Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive results in a rapidly evolving market landscape.

· Demonstrated ability to look outside traditional sales segments in retail to find other opportunities for our products, ie. Channel diversification.

· Proven track record in growing profitable business.

· Ability to travel approximately 40% and additional travel as needed.

· Evidence of the practice of a high level of confidentiality.

· Excellent organizational skills.
