JOB TITLE: INSTRUCTIONAL AIDE/ENGLISH LANGUAGE LEARNER PROGRAM
2024/25 School Year

REPORT TO: Director of Educational Services/Principal/Certified Bilingual Teacher

SUMMARY: Under supervision works with English Language Learners to provide them with a culturally and educationally appropriate program of instruction that ensures access to educational opportunities and experiences that promote academic success, English language development, and social development.

QUALIFICATIONS: A high school diploma or GED is required. Individuals in this classification must have the ability and knowledge to speak, read, and write fluently in English and in another language determined by the needs of the students. Generally, this second language will be Spanish. A thorough knowledge of the cultural background of the students involved is also preferred.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assists in providing English language development instruction to individual students or to a small group of students under the supervision of a certified teacher.
2. Performs oral and written translations at parent/teacher conferences and other times as needed.
3. Performs written translations of appropriate District letters, forms, and packets as needed.
4. Organizes, prepares and works with the ELD curriculum
5. Confers and collaborates with teachers regarding lesson plans and adaptations in any content area as needed by the student.
6. Performs clerical tasks and ELL record keeping as required by program and state practices and procedures.
7. Screens potential English Language Learner program students.
8. Attends training and meetings as needed.
9. Acts ethically and confidentially in all aspects of employment.
10. Performs such duties as assigned by the supervisor

Pay: $14.50 - $15.09 per hour
