Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and reliable Personal Care Assistant to provide care for an older man residing in Birdsboro, PA. The individual requires assistance due to pain affecting movement, likely necessitating hip replacement, as well as knee pain. The Personal Care Assistant will play a crucial role in supporting the individual with activities of daily living (ADLs), including meal preparation, bathing, mobility support, and light housekeeping.

Responsibilities:

• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting.
• Prepare meals according to dietary restrictions and preferences.
• Provide mobility assistance, including assistance with walking and transferring to and from bed.
• Perform light housekeeping duties such as tidying up living spaces and maintaining cleanliness.
• Provide companionship and emotional support to the individual.
• Keep track of medication schedules and assist with medication management as needed.

Qualifications:

• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred but not required.
• Compassionate and patient demeanor with excellent communication skills.
• Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
• Physical stamina and strength to assist with mobility and lifting as needed.
• Reliable transportation to and from the client's location (the house is not accessible by public transportation).
• Must pass background check and provide references.

Additional Information:

• This is a full-time position with hours from 08:00 am to 6:00 pm, seven days a week.
• The individual receiving care may require assistance primarily due to pain affecting movement, with potential upcoming hip replacement surgery and knee pain.
• Compensation: Base rate of $13.50 per hour. Anything over 40 hours/week is considered overtime and paid at time and a half.
