About Us: Join the ESS Operator Academy, a premier heavy equipment operator training program offered by Emery Sapp & Sons. Aimed at recent high school graduates or military personnel eager to kickstart their careers in construction, this program provides hands-on training, valuable classroom instruction, and the opportunity to become a skilled heavy equipment operator. Program Overview: The ESS Operator Academy is a four-week to five-week intensive training program designed to equip participants with the skills and knowledge needed to excel in the construction industry. Participants will receive comprehensive training in operating a variety of heavy equipment, including excavators, dozers, loaders, backhoes, skidsteers, and scrapers. Benefits of the Program: Immediate Employment: Participants will be hired by Emery Sapp & Sons and considered full-time employee-owners with benefits from day one. Competitive Compensation: Participants will receive $15 per hour during the 4-5 weeks of training, with the opportunity for pay increases upon completion of the program. Hands-On Training: The program offers a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training, with approximately 40% of the training time spent in the classroom and 60% in hands-on activities. Diverse Curriculum: Classroom topics include heavy equipment safety, operational techniques, earthmoving, construction math, interpreting civil drawings, and more. Real-Life Experience: Participants will have the opportunity to visit job sites, observe experienced operators in action, and learn directly from industry leaders. Career Growth: Upon completion of the program, graduates will be placed on a local crew and provided with opportunities for career advancement within Emery Sapp & Sons. Qualifications: Recent high school graduate (must be 18 years of age or older). Strong interest in construction and heavy equipment operation.
