JOB DESCRIPTION
If you are an Electrical Engineering professional looking for an opportunity to grow, Emerson has an opening for you! Based in our Shakopee, MN location, you will participate in and support the development of validated technologies, products and/or processes to meet company objectives for safety, quality, cost, schedule, and performance goals.
IN THIS ROLE, YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE:
  • Work with multi-functional teams including design engineers and product/project managers to create new products to meet global hazardous location, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS), and other regulatory requirements
  • Analyze circuit functionality and potential failure modes
  • Interpret product safety standards and apply the requirements to new and existing product designs
  • Build technical justification and prepare technical documents to demonstrate compliance and support product certification
  • Conduct tests in product certification lab
  • Interact directly with third party certification agencies
  • Maintain certifications, procedures, as well as provide support for manufacturing, design, product management and other functions as needed
  • Understand and implement applicable quality control processes and procedures
  • Participate in Audits as the need arises
WHO YOU ARE:

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from an engineering school.
  • Two (2) or more years of engineering/related experience
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship now or in the future
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS THAT SET YOU APART:
  • ABET-accredited degree
  • Experience with circuit design and functional analysis
  • Familiarity with ATEX/IECEx/FM/CSA certifications/standards
  • Familiarity with FMEAs or FMEDAs
