1-4TH GRADES TEACHERS’ ASSISTANT

The Emerson Waldorf School seeks Grades Assistant to join our Grade School (1-8) faculty. The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in Waldorf education and a desire to work with a team of experienced educators. The assistant will be scheduled to be present in any of these three Grades at different times throughout the day, 5 days a week. Some responsibilities include assisting with….

• Working with small groups of students

• Assisting classroom teachers with instruction, records, and assignments

• Supervising students during lunch or recess times

• Helping ensure that students are on task and successfully completing assignments

• Help reinforce and clarify instructions to students.

• Supporting the social/emotional needs of students.

• Ensuring that a consistent classroom environment is maintained during subject classes.

This candidate is organized and self-motivated and connects easily with young children.

This is a part-time, hourly position. The job is five mornings/week with the possibility of some afternoon hours, from mid-August to mid-June.
