As an EMC Engineer based in Austin, TX you will play a key role in ensuring that our products meet electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) requirements and standards. Flexible Work Schedule - Remote Work Option
This role has the flexibility of a remote work option up to three days a week. Our teams work together to ensure our chosen work schedules enable our creativity and productivity as we serve the needs of our customers.
FOR THIS ROLE, YOU WILL NEED:
  • Conduct EMC testing and evaluation of products using specialized equipment and test procedures.
  • Analyze test results and identify potential EMC issues or non-compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Perform electromagnetic interference (EMI) troubleshooting and root cause analysis to resolve EMC-related issues.
  • Coordinate with 3rd party test houses to conduct formal compliance testing. This includes obtaining quotes, requesting purchase orders and reviewing/approving reports.
  • Assist in the design and development of electronic products to ensure compliance with EMC regulations and standards.
  • Collaborate with design engineers to implement EMC design solutions and mitigation techniques.
  • Participate in design reviews and provide EMC engineering recommendations to ensure EMC considerations are integrated throughout the product development lifecycle.
  • Know the latest industry trends, regulations, and standards related to EMC and participate in continuous learning and professional development activities.
  • Document test procedures, results, and findings in accordance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Assist in the development of EMC test plans for new product design verification and validation.
  • Support cross-functional teams and collaborate with other departments, such as hardware engineering, software engineering, and quality assurance, to address EMC-related challenges.
WHO YOU ARE:

For this Role, You Will Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of electromagnetic theory, EMC principles, and regulations (e.g., FCC, CISPR, IEC standards, European EMC Directive).
  • Knowledge of EMC testing techniques and equipment, such as spectrum analyzers, EMC receivers, and anechoic chambers.
  • Familiarity with EMC design considerations and mitigation techniques, including shielding, grounding, and filtering.
  • Proficiency in using simulation tools (e.g., SPICE, Hyperlynx) for EMC analysis is a plus.
  • Legal Authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role.
