Support the Data Management team to strategically define, implement and operate Data Governance Boards, Committees, and Workgroups across the Federal EHR.
This role requires strong general management consulting experience and experience with databases. Duties to include:
Orchestrate the operation of data management governance bodies to include preparing agendas and artifacts, facilitating the meetings, documenting meeting minutes, and pursuing action items with stakeholders.
Seek to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of joint data management governance processes, methods and supporting tools by following and contributing to a Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Present work verbally, in briefings, presentations and in long-form documents; prepare agendas and take meeting minutes
Apply a consulting approach by asking critical questions and posing recommendations to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the governance processes
Coordinate communication among a large group of stakeholders on informatics topics relating to the Federal EHR, driving convergence where possible
Proactively engage with technical stakeholders within the Departments and joint bodies to identify potential data management risks and issues.
Analyze data to provide insights to facilitate decision making and support the implementation of data governance processes.
Apply knowledge of data standards to analyze data exchanged by the Federal EHR system and related legacy systems to serve as a champion of convergence and promote overall data quality within the Federal EHR enclave.
Assist in documenting data processes and workflows and maintain a repository of Data Governance artifacts
Apply prior experience with databases, to include Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) APIs, to develop content catalogues and develop strategies for data acquisition and syndication.
Examine how data is structured and the ability to publish data models.
Minimum qualifications:
• 4 years of professional work experience
• Ability to coordinate activities among a large set of stakeholders
• Prior database knowledge and experience
• Ability to effectively write and edit, particularly in the development of slides
• Proactive thought leader who is able to contribute with minimal guidance in a dynamic team environment
• Master’s Degree in Healthcare, Science, Computer Engineering or related scientific, technical, or clinical discipline, or an additional 8 years of relevant experience may be substituted for degree requirements
Preferred qualifications:
• Prior terminology experience
• Knowledge of SQL
• Prior experience supporting DoD, VA and/or both
• Experience in IT project management
