Our embedded analysts work directly for our clients, allowing them the benefit of employing intelligence professionals trained to ERI’s strict standards of competency and continually professionally developed by ERI’s senior leadership, armed with access to ERI’s proprietary tools and deep backbench of in-house subject matter experts.

The Position:

The Security Operations Intelligence Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, assessing, and notifying the client of risk or threats to its business, personnel and assets. The analyst will also be responsible for providing support to the client's travel safety, security and monitoring program. As a member of a distributed CSOC, the analyst will work collaboratively with team members in other locations including London, UK.

The analyst may also be asked to assist with operational duties including any traditional security operations like CCTV security monitoring, employee badging, loss control and prevention support tasks.

Primary responsibilities:

  • Utilize demonstrable research, monitoring and reporting capabilities to assess and report on issues of concern to the company. This will include weather related hazards, natural disasters, emergency situations unfolding near a company facility, political violence and unrest, criminal activity, and internal threats.
  • Write physical security risk assessment reports, travel and event-related risk, threat and vulnerability assessments as necessary.
  • Monitor multi-media security communications (emails, Slack, AlertMedia, CSOC phone, two-way radios) and respond to incoming requests for support/help.
  • Act as a first line of communication with employees during high alert and emergency situations, sending regional threat notifications, conducting check-ins on employees or asset conditions, etc.
  • Understand the global scope of the client's business and monitor these areas for issues that could impact operations, assets, personnel and reputation.
  • Carry out social media monitoring and, potentially, due diligence research.
  • Assess and, as necessary, notify relevant staff and leadership of breaking events, or upcoming events that could affect the client's assets, operations or people.
  • Create data visualizations and incorporate into reporting.
  • Build reports, assessments and dashboards on topics of interest to the company as requested.
  • Monitor alarms and other physical security monitoring tools at the facility and other facilities globally.
  • Build relationships with other intelligence analysts with similar remits͕, local law enforcement and internal partners to assist with information gathering and sharing.
  • Schedule will be 8-hour shifts, 5 days a week, but some evenings and weekends may be required due to the nature of security work and for overlapping hours for collaboration, training and engagement with US-based team members.
  • Administrative tasks as necessary.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • At least two to four years’ experience as a security operations and intelligence analyst in a GSOC or equivalent environment, whether having served in the private or public sector, with a demonstrated track record of steadily expanded responsibilities.
  • Bachelor's degree in intelligence, international relations, journalism, supply chain security or related field.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, demonstrable ability to write concise reports suitable for a corporate executive audience.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Excellent critical thinking skills that bolster both analytic work and suitability for serving in a lead client-facing role.
  • Able to meet analytic deadlines and quick-thinking and responsiveness during crisis events.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data and information.
  • Willingness to work onsite at client office in San Francisco, as role requires regular team collaboration and access to sensitive corporate information.
  • Superior research/OSINT skills.
  • Ability to juggle multiple competing tasks and prioritize accordingly.
  • A strong commitment to ethical private sector intelligence practices and ability to maintain confidentiality around security specific information.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule as required.
  • Must pass a background check including prior employment and education credentials as well as a pre-employment drug screening, if/as permitted by local law.
