Financing Specialist

Emerald Transportation Solutions seeks a Financing Specialist. In this position, The Financing Specialist is dedicated to ensuring customers are provided with tailor-made financing solutions that align with their needs and budgetary constraints. This position requires automotive financing expertise and a deep understanding of various financing products. As the primary point of contact for the customer seeking vehicle financing, the Financing Specialist must have a strong customer service orientation and the ability to navigate complex financial discussions. The role involves thoroughly assessing each customer’s financial situation, credit history, and purchasing preference to facilitate financing arrangements. The successful candidate will understand financing, credit analysis, tight deadlines, and the ability to provide excellent customer service throughout the buying process.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Engage with customers to discuss their financial needs and recommend appropriate vehicle financing options.
• Process financing deals accurately and secure approval through financial sources through the proper federal, state, and corporate channels.
• Understand and comply with federal, state, and local regulations that affect the new and used vehicle and fiancé departments.
• Assisted customers in completing credit applications and ensures all necessary documentation is collected to process loans.
• Explain all financial and insurance products to customers, including the benefits and requirements for each.
• Collaborate with the sales team to ensure all new sales are legally compliant and financed appropriately.
• Keep up with current financial requirements as well as new financial products and services.
• Establish and maintain strong relationships with a network of lenders and financial institutions to secure competitive financing rates and terms for customers.
• Negotiate with lenders on behalf of the customer to obtain approval for financing at the best possible rates and terms.
• Maintain all financing and insurance products offered, including service contracts, extended warranties, and gap insurance.
• Work closely with the sales team to ensure a smooth transition from the vehicle selection to the financing phase, facilitating a cohesive and positive customer buying experience.
• Provide feedback and strategic input to the finance and sales department to optimize financing promotions strategies and procedures.
• Ensure high levels of customer satisfaction by providing a transparent and customer-centric financing process, addressing any issues or concerns promptly and effectively.

Job Skills and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, Business, or a related field.
• Five years of financing experience in the automotive, banking, financial services, and insurance industry. Auto finance underwriting experience preferred.
• Self-motivated with solid quantitative analytics and problem-solving skills.
• Strong knowledge of fiancé and insurance practices, including understanding credit report analysis, loan origination, and financial regulations.
• Proven ability to sell financial products and services while providing exceptional customer service.
• Skilled in negotiation and persuasion, focusing on achieving customer satisfaction and departmental goals.
• Strong understanding of lending procedures and customer service practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex financial information in an understandable manner.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking skills.
• Ability to work well in a team environment and foster positive relationships with customers and colleagues.
