Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Soccer Coach to join our team. A coach at Emerald City FC is expected to deliver a player development program with a focus on progressive technical skill development, tactical knowledge, team building, physical development, emotional maturity and other factors critical to a strong player and team development. The coach will create and implement two 90-minute organized trainings per week for each team and is responsible for preparing their team for games and tournaments. This coaching position will be receive support from the Technical Director and Executive Director of Coaching.
Time Commitment:
-Run practices 2 evenings per week, 40 weeks per year, 1.5 hrs. per night per team. Weekend games on 20-24 weekends during the year. Attend 4-5 Coach meetings/events per year.
Duties:
- Be a positive and driving influence in the life of your players - Develop and implement age-appropriate training programs for individuals and teams
- Teach fundamental soccer skills such as passing, shooting, dribbling, and teamwork
- Plan and conduct engaging practice sessions that focus on skill development and tactical strategies
- Provide constructive feedback to players to help them improve their performance and annual player evaluations
- Organize and coordinate team activities, including games, tournaments, and events - Attend and preside over all games
- Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all players
- Foster a positive team culture that promotes sportsmanship, respect, and teamwork
- Stay up-to-date with the latest coaching techniques and trends in soccer -Maintain compliance with all mandated Washington Youth Soccer coaching requirements such as concussion training, sudden cardiac arrest training and SafeSport.
Qualifications:
- Commitment to coach a full year from May 1, 2024 to April 30, 2025. - Previous experience working with students or athletes in a coaching capacity
- USSF Grassroots certificate or United Soccer Coaches (USC) Development Diplomas
(9v9, 11v11), or equivalent (REQUIRED)
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate and motivate players and communicate with families
- Ability to work well with individuals of all ages and skill levels - Experience coaching youth teams, building team culture, and communicating with families.
- CPR/AED certification is preferred
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $9,000.00 - $17,000.00 per hour
