A full-time position with E&R Sales and Marketing services, delivering and stocking EMD products to their customers with accuracy, care, and efficiency. Interact with customers, EMD Sales' sales representatives, managers, customer services and other drivers to provide and process information in response to inquiries, concerns, and requests about delivery services.
Responsibilities
• Operating a Non-CDL delivery van to/from the warehouse site to the delivery site (Supermarket Chains, Walmart, Independent Stores, and Restaurants) in the Pennsylvania area
• Delivering food products with the appropriate temperature, unloading and deliver to the store back room. Frozen and refrigerated products must be safely delivered to its appropriate cooler or freezer in the back of the store. All merchandise must be accounted against invoice for accuracy in cases and dollars.
• Maintains store shelves by observing displays of company products, removing damaged or freshness-dated products, tidying store shelves, and providing optimum display of products.
• Maintains inventory by restocking shelves with product from inventory, observing inventory levels, prompting store management to reorder when levels appear low, and arranging for return and credit for damaged products.
• Any discrepancy in cases must be notified to Customer service for immediate review. If the discrepancy is in pricing the driver must communicate with the Accounting Department.
• Collect and review any credits at the store included in credit memos in your route.
• Manage routes and routines so they proceed in the most efficient way possible. Use technology to help you navigate commercial roads safely. Ex Commercial GPS.
• Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle at beginning and the end of the shift and report any problems or damage to management
• Maintain the van clean and fuel tank full. Observe and report equipment or mechanical failures immediately to Management and Penske or Ryder
• Respond promptly to customer inquiries, sales representatives’ questions, or problems during daily route
• Collection of cash or checks acknowledging the payment of invoices delivered today or previously. Acknowledge the payment in writing for the customer by writing the method of payment and amount received in the pertinent invoice and daily route document.
• Collection of DSD document, P.O and signature of the invoices on sales delivered to a store on credit picked up at any customer.
• Report any short, damage or overstock of products on a daily basis on the invoice to customer service
• Report to warehouse manager and operations any problems during the route as traffic tickets, damage to vehicles or accidents.
Qualifications / Skills
• Valid Driver’s License with good driving record
• Interpersonal, listening and communication skills – verbal and written
• Problem analysis and problem-solving
• Attention to detail and accuracy on transactions
• Available to work overtime or weekends as needed
• Bilingual preferred
Education and Experience
• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required
• Minimum 1 year experience preferred
Compensation
• Hourly rate of $18.50, overtime available
