Service Technician - Raleigh, NC

Job Summary:

Assist in the maintenance of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and other related equipment as assigned. Will work under the supervision of a senior level Service Technician.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Will pick up parts and other equipment from parts warehouse as needed and requested.

• Assist in the replacement or repair of compressor and condenser units.

• Will assist with the fabrication, assembly, and installation of ductwork and chassis parts using portable metalworking tools.

• Assist with the replacement or repair of evaporator.

• Assist with the replacement of expansion and discharge valves in circuit.

• Will assist with the repair or replacement of motors, compressors, temperature controls, humidity controls, and circulating-ventilation fans to control panels.

• Will sweep, clean, remove trash and perform other general maintenance tasks in assigned work areas.

• Will perform other duties as assigned or requested by your supervisor.

Qualifications:

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. Trade/Technical School certification or degree helpful. Candidates must possess good communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills to ensure effective teamwork and customer relations. Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work, use hand tools and tolerate confined spaces. Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes. Proper use of Personal Protection Equipment (PPE) is required while performing tasks.
Valid Driver's License and Universal Refrigerant Certification.

Language Skills

Must possess good communication skills (verbal and written).

Supervisory Responsibilities

Mathematical Skills

Must possess basic math skills. Ability to perform these basic operations using units of American money and weight measurement, and volume.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and sometimes complex written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.

Physical Demands

Must be able to climb ladders, lift and carry 50 or more pounds, distinguish colors for electrical work, use hand tools and tolerate confined spaces. Work will involve heights and seasonal temperature extremes.
