EMCOR Construction Services Midwest (ECS) is the energy division of Shambaugh & Son L.P.’s HAVEL division. We are a wholly owned subsidiary of EMCOR Group, Inc., a construction/engineering firm. We specialize in the Design-Build method of construction resulting in fast-track delivery of the project improvements for our clients. We are one of the largest specialty contractors in the U.S. and the only one with all eight M.E.P (Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Automation, Refrigeration, HVAC, Plumbing, and Fire Protection) design and installation capabilities in-house. Job Summary

EMCOR Construction Services Midwest (ECS) is seeking a Senior Mechanical Project Engineer in our Fort Wayne, IN office. In this position, you will lead the mechanical design team in the design of mechanical and plumbing systems with a focus on Educational and Government entities. You will provide engineering expertise for energy conservation strategies and MEP construction projects working under the Mechanical Engineering Manager.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the production of final construction design drawings for our self-performing field trades.
• Assist in continuing to be the leader in self-performed guaranteed savings projects by producing world-class quality MEP projects in an ever-changing public market
• Generate system design and specifications for Mechanical HVAC, Plumbing, Underground, Temperature Controls, and familiarity with Electrical power and lighting systems.
• Perform Load studies and envelope/operational analysis.
• Perform field investigation for systems, layout, drawings, etc.
• Size equipment through selection software and vendor coordination.
• Generate HVAC and plumbing plans and perform drafting utilizing AutoCAD.
• Coordinate design of additional disciplines such as Architectural, Civil, Structural, Fire Protection, etc.
• Develop and generate Details & Schedules.
• Generate control schematics and sensor/points requirements and sequences.
• Review submittals
• Perform on-site installation inspections and attend construction meetings.
• Perform punch out/job close out
• Assist with building audits, and analysis of existing systems.
• Remain familiar with Codes and Standards.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 7 years of experience in the HVACR industry with a Mechanical/HVAC Engineering background.
• Proficient use of AutoCAD, Word, Excel. Trace 700
• Experience with other system design software
• Experience with Adobe Pro, Bluebeam, or similar programs preferred.
• The ideal candidate would be able to conceptualize and carry out the design of such systems from beginning to final product.
• This person should be self-motivated, innovative, competent, responsible, proficient, and organized.
• This person should be personable and must work well in a team environment.
• Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology, or similar accredited Engineering Technology program required.
• Professional Licensing or Certifications strongly encouraged, but not required.
• Intrastate travel required. Active driver license status a must.
• Background in Design Build or Guaranteed Savings Projects a plus.
• Experience in engineering K-12 and public sector projects is a plus.
