Job Title Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary:

EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for Maintenance Mechanic in Washington DC & Arlington VA, Monday-Friday 11am - 7pm. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Conduct a routine assessment of the building systems operations for both DC and Virginia locations. Perform tests, tours and analyzes data to assure the proper operation of building machinery. Candidate will perform minor repairs, preventive maintenance and service requests on building equipment, machinery and components located in the interior or exterior of the building.
  • Inspect lighting on a regular schedule. Make sure your inspection list includes all the lighting in the facility: interior, exterior, exit lighting, etc
  • Inspect building interior, to include the finishes, ceilings, fire extinguishers, vertical surfaces, systems furniture, conduct repairs, and/or communicate for completion 
  • Inspect building exterior, to include the roof and façade, conduct repairs, and/or communicate for completion 
  • Performs maintenance on all plumbing in buildings including water and sanitation systems.
  • Perform snow removal.
  • Trains Maintenance Helpers to increase their skills.
  • Assist Engineers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 3 – 6 years’ experience in a commercial environment.
  • Current CFC Universal License
  • Journeyman plumber license preferred
  • Must be able to work any shift assigned
  • Must be able to work weekends.
  • Must be able to work overtime. 

Physical Demands:

  • Work requires an abundance of walking, bending, kneeling, and working in uncomfortable positions.
