Position Overview:

We are searching for a full-time Estimator I to join our growing team in Colorado. The Estimator I (E1) position is responsible for performing estimating take-off and associated support for the work procurement team. The E1 is expected to work with customers collaboratively and respectfully in preparing estimates and with staff and vendors to perform general estimating and work procurement activities to meet both project and company objectives.

Regular working hours are Monday through Friday 7:00am-4:00pm in our Lakewood office. Hybrid office/remote working schedules possible following probationary period. This position offers weekends off as well as an enjoyable team-oriented environment. This position offers a competitive annual salary of $50,000 - $65,000.

The Estimator I will possess:

  • BA/BS in construction related field OR State of Colorado Journeyman or Master Electrician License desired.
  • 0-3 Years electrical construction industry experience.
  • Working knowledge of municipal jurisdictional permits, codes, etc.
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Record is required to drive personal or company vehicles for business purposes.
  • Ability to multitask, organize and prioritize work assignments for accurate and timely completion.
  • Interpersonal, verbal, and written communications skills necessary to communicate professionally and effectively.
  • Possess a positive attitude toward career development and company process/policy improvement.
  • Ability to pass a preemployment drug screening.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

Primary duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Build and maintain professional relationships with customers, peers, supervisors, administrative staff, field craft workers, field supervision, vendors, suppliers, manufacturers, and subcontractors based on mutual respect, trust, and integrity.
  • Preconstruction / Estimating:
    • Download, name, and check-in bid documents.
    • Complete Project Rating Forms as required.
    • Attend and actively participate in pre-bid job walks and related meetings.
    • Assemble bid packages for, coordinate and communicate with for vendor and subcontractor distribution and quote.
    • Perform general estimating as assigned to support overall company work procurement objectives.
    • Consider, solicit, and track small/disadvantaged business participation during the budgeting process.
  • In cooperation with Marketing, prepare content for project proposals in accurate and timely fashion; provide content for presentation materials for customer interviews/meetings; and prepare for and attend project interviews.
  • Work collaboratively with:
    • Estimating Manager to improve estimating procedures and ensure protocol is followed.
    • Pre-Fab Manager to identify opportunities for pre-fab during preconstruction effort.
    • Safety Manager to address safety requirements during preconstruction effort.
    • Quality Manager to address QA/QC/Cx requirements during preconstruction effort.

COMPENSATION RANGE: Salary Range for this position is $50,000 - $65,000 and is based upon years of experience that is commensurate with the level of the position.

Other Compensation: Eligible to receive an annual discretionary bonus in accordance with Company policy.
